Hello, my name is Jackie, and I am the editor of the My Journal Journey blog site. Journaling has been a long-time passion of mine and is a tool that I use to keep me focused. When I am disciplined enough to do it regularly it keeps me organized, on tasks and grounded. Without doing it regularly, it’s pretty much the opposite.
Being the introvert that I am, in hard times writing has been a necessary healing tool that I use and maybe it can be for you as well. I was stuck in a dark place for a very long time after suffering many losses, but God in His infinite grace will not allow me to stay stuck. His amazing love has shown me that He is not done with me yet. My life has a purpose and guess what, yours does as well. So, if anyone other than me has found yourself stuck, in a dark place, please feel free to use this site to help you get unstuck.
This blog site (although undergoing a makeover) - is the very first online writing challenge that I've created as a platform for myself and others to get motivated, and begin to keep those journals, writing those books, those poems, those skits and plays, those essays, whatever the case may be. Because what God put in you is not just for you, it is for someone else but the best part about that is, as you and I help someone else, we also help ourselves thereby creating win-wins.
You may begin with things like writing random thoughts that turn into writing prompts for possible book content; or writing painful as well as joyous memories for memoir content. Try writing your interpretation of your Bible Study or by writing prayers for others healing and deliverance. Maybe you could try art doodling or junk journaling for colorfulness. But anything that leads you out of mindless, dark places equals roads to healing, mind body, and soul. So, let’s journal together, and may God be glorified.
PERSONAL DISCLAIMER
I am not a therapist, much of what I share is from my own personal experience and through having myself, been in therapy (which I highly recommend for anyone struggling emotionally). I do use much of my own personal opinion, my revelations from studying the Word of God and facts from books and other media sources. I encourage you to do your own research on anything that you may find questionable as well as invite you to email me any questions that you may have about anything that I have written.
